The most recent version of Treebard source code is available for free online at this link.

Please take 5 minutes to install Python v. 3.8+. If you want to work on the code, also copy the SQLite CLI files to your computer.

If I can do it, you can do it better.

Treebard is public domain, open source, unlicensed, and portable genealogy software.

Many thanks for your kind appreciation.

Thanks for acknowledging my six years of full-time+ work on Treebard and UNIGEDS--about 16,000 hours--which I did for fun with no strings attached.

Please don't make a donation if you expect custom work from me. The purpose of this donation page is to provide genealogy software developers with a way to thank me for a working model of a code base they can use freely, with no strings attached, in any way they like, including commercial enterprise. Donations are accepted only if there are no strings attached. Treebard is not meant to be a complete genieware but could probably be used as such by many people. It's purposely missing features that I think are stupid, such as writing books for you, doing research for you, etc. It's also missing important features such as Undo/Redo. So I call it a working model, that means you take it and run with it. Make it better. The main thrust of my development was not fancy, fad or fashion, but rather an intuitive interface and the ability to reflect historical facts accurately. Also the best theme customizer in software history, which could be adapted for any Tkinter project and does not use ttk widgets.

Treebard as-is is public domain, open source, etc. This refers to everything prior to Treebard version 0.0.0, which is not a planned project. But I could change my plans. After my experience with receiving donations for open source software (that was a little joke), I have 0.0.0 plans to make version 0+ even vaguely free.

Many thanks for your kind appreciation.
